Study shows 50% of Colorado residents are at risk for radon poisoning

“Half of Colorado residents are at risk of radon poisoning, according to a new warning from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.

Radon is a naturally occurring gas and it can be anywhere, regardless of your home’s age.

Experts said people who live on the Redlands are at an increased risk because of the shale underneath the neighborhood.

‘Radon gas is odorous and tasteless, and colorless and it’s the second leading cause of lung cancer,’ said St. Mary’s oncologist support supervisor Debra Hesse.”
